Information on Get Covered Illinois
The open enrollment period for Get Covered Illinois, the health insurance marketplace in Illinois began, October 1. In an effort to answer inquiries that people might have, the Governor’s Office shared the following information on Get Covered Illinois:
In-Person Counselor (IPC) sub-grantees will be providing advice as well as outreach and education to consumers signing up for health care coverage on the Marketplace or on Medicaid.
Each IPC helping to facilitate an individual’s enrollment in either program has been or will soon be trained at both the federal and State level as is required by State law. In addition to In-Person Counselors, Illinois consumers may be helped with enrollment by Navigators and Certified Application Counselors; these three groups make up the Illinois Assister Program. With open enrollment officially under way, there may be questions in the coming days and weeks on the Marketplace and on Medicaid.
